Our Internal Audit team protects AIG through assurance work and partners with stakeholders to provide objective advice and insight. The team brings a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of AIG’s control environment, including risk management, operational, internal control, and governance processes. In addition, it proactively engages with stakeholders by tracking change initiatives and providing valuable advice and insights that help move progress forward.
How you will create an impact
Deliver the audit plan in accordance with China regulations, AIG China Internal Audit Policy and Standard, and monitor the business control environment on a continuous basis:
- Plan and execute the audit plans, and special projects/investigations as needed, with reference to the regulatory requirements and the corporate risk based audit approach.
- Ensure consistent application of internal audit methodology for all audits and projects.
- Understand an integrated view of controls over business processes, including financial, operational, commercial and IT general controls.
- Plan, execute and report the audit assignments, including work paper documentation, in accordance with AIG China Internal Audit Policy and Standard.
- Summarize audit findings and draft audit issues and report in a concise and precise manner.
- Proactively identify opportunities where IA (Internal Audit) can add value to the Company beyond the audit plan. Build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to quality requirements and AIG China Internal Audit Policy and Standard.
- Work closely with members of Senior Leadership team and operate as a business partner in order to understand and continuously monitor key business issues / risks. This knowledge would be used within IA to form a robust risk-based audit plan.
- Support Audit Responsible Person on strategic projects in an effort to advance AIG China’s business objectives.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance required; CPA/CIA or equivalent desirable.
- Relevant experience, preferably with general insurance industry experience
- In-depth knowledge of China insurance regulatory requirements
- Experience in delivering statutory audit plan, and dealing with local regulator
- Strong project/time management skills with the ability to organize and handle multiple priorities.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Good command of English - both spoken and written
