What are we looking for:
We are seeking a confident, energetic team player with fundamental project management skill which contains events arrangement, programme management and excellent communications skills. The role will entail managing a varied and large number of events designed to promote the development of UK-China trade and to continuously grow and bolster CBBC’s core offering of helping UK companies develop a deeper understanding of and connection with China. The jobholder will report to Director, Membership and Events in CBBC Shanghai office.
This is a short - term position lasting 6 - 7 months, starting from September 2025. It is intended to cover the maternity leave of a staff member at CBBC Shanghai.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be
responsible for planning, budgeting, execution of events and marketing the
opportunities to reach the target audience. You will also work with the colleagues
from across the team to ensure the events programme is organised and developed effectively. Specific responsibilities include:

· Responsible for events logistic works, including but not limited to arrangement of venue selection and set-up, transportation, catering,
AV equipment, onsite event support during events
· Draft and manage hard-cost quotation, and payments to external suppliers
· Managing high profiled events, dealing effectively with and meeting the expectations of different stakeholders and partners
· Organising seminars, receptions and other events on behalf
of a variety of UK based clients and delivering them within an agreed budget
· Support on compile content for membership and event team,
including but not limit to draft invitations, flyer design, PPT compiling,
draft content for CBBC social media or newsletter posts.
· The promotion of events services offered by CBBC,
acquisition of new clients and servicing and care of existing client
relationships. Understanding customer requirements and managing customer
relationships
· Proactively building on CBBC’s database to reach out to more
British and Chinese companies actively developing trade together
· Support to manage the visit itinerary, including update the logistic, liaise with service providers, make sure the full itinerary goes smooth.
· Provide support to membership team, keep the CRM system up to date
· Responsible for draft invitation and visit letters to local stakeholders or member companies.
· Attend meetings with members and stakeholders and taking meeting notes
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be energetic, highly motivated, IT literate, an excellent organiser and communicator, an active listener and a team player with a proven ability to work independently. Specific requirements for the role are as follows:

Bachelor degree or above
·
Excellent language skills in English and Mandarin (written and oral)
·
Relevant working experience in Events
·
Basic events management skills, providing careful attention to details
·
Demonstrable understanding of UK-China business issues
·
Excellent team work and communication to deliver an active annual events programme
·
Client facing skills is requested
·
Have an understanding of budgeting
·
A flexible and entrepreneurial style and a quick learner
·
Skilled use of computer software: word, excel, ppt…
