Duties and Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy and Planning
? Leading the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and procedures to support the School's goals and objectives.
? Communicate HR objectives to all stakeholders, including staff, Governors, and Harrow International Management Systems (HIMS).
2. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
? Manage and oversee the recruitment process to ensure the selection of high-quality candidates aligned with the School's strategic vision.
? Develop and maintain a robust talent pool to meet current and future staffing needs.
? Collaborate with department heads to forecast staffing requirements and plan for personnel costs.
? Create effective recruitment channels and strategies to attract top talent, including online job boards, social media, recruitment agencies, and academic partnerships.
? Develop and implement onboarding programs to ensure new hires are integrated smoothly into the School’s culture and processes.
3. Compensation and Benefits
? Implement and manage the School’s compensation and benefits programs to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
? Conduct market benchmarking surveys and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
? Work with the finance department to prepare and manage the HR budget.
? Monitor and manage the compensation and benefits budget throughout the year. And provide support and information to employees regarding their benefits options and entitlements.
4. Employee Relations and Compliance
? Ensure HR policies and practices comply with legal regulations and local employment laws.
? Handle staff issues and legal HR matters in consultation with relevant authorities.
? Provide professional HR advice to the Head Master and Governors as required.
5. Performance Management and Development
? Support the implementation of performance assessment processes, providing clarity and support to team leaders.
? Identify training needs through annual appraisals and manage learning and development activities.
? Monitor training effectiveness and adjust programs as necessary.
6. HR Operations Management
? Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including managing the HRIS to ensure data accuracy and security.
? Streamline HR workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
? Supervise HR staff, ensuring positive and transparent communication within the department.
Safeguarding
? Implement safeguarding procedures and ensure compliance with the School’s policies on child protection and health and safety.
? Ensuring that the School’s safeguarding policies on child protection and health and safety are implemented effectively.
Requirements
Minimum Academic Degree required
? Bachelor’s degree (HR focus preferred) or above
Professional skill and knowledge required
Mandatory
? Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and best practice
? Sound knowledge of employment issues
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.
? Sound judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
? Ability to work on own initiative and multi-task.
? Ability to work under pressure and with personnel from all levels
Experience
Mandatory
? Have at least 5 years of generalist HR management experience in a cross-culture organization
? Experience in implementing, maintaining, and improving relevant systems and procedures
Desired but not mandatory
? Interested in gradually growing into an HR generalist as the School continues to grow
? Previous experience of working in a similar role in an international school
IT Skills
