Business Title: Director/Senior Managerfor Compressor Engineering Location: Wuxi, China What you will do:Compressor Engineering develops bothscroll and rotary compressors, as well asany future innovative technologies. We areooking for Engineer Head to lead scrol compressor development team. Engineering Head will be expected to allocate resources within the compressor engineering team in China, to leadcompressor design efforts, and to develop anew generation of scroll compressors formass production focused on competitiveperformance, while achieving lowest cost incooperation with product engineers andother creatives to ensure dedd ines ofproduct launch are met. How you will do it: ● Work within the compressor engineering team in China. ● Budget and manage the funding and resources to support the identified Compressor projects. ● Lead development project following internal development process and make decision at set gate. ● Ensure development project is on track and adjust schedules as required. ● Understand technical requirements of HVAC application which uses compressor and work with product engineers to fine-tune them. ● Coordinate departments and creative teams. ● Identify weaknesses in prototypes and make the necessary changes. ● Obtain feedback from engineers and field QA, and adjust specifications as needed. ● Collect technology trend information and manage technology roadmap. ● Bridge the transition from Advanced development to compressor product development, and provide transition support to the engineering and manufacturing teams through mass production launch. ● Support to generate significant IP in both design and application of new compressor products, as well as novel manufacturing processes. ● Commit to the elimination of unsafe conditions, using appropriate personal protect equipment and complying with pre-established rules (Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety and Quality), being aware of internal policies and procedures. ● Commit to the company's mission, values, policies and objectives, complying with the rules, instructions, internal procedures and the integrated management system, ensuring quality, work safety, the environment and preventive medicine, in order to contribute to the valuing people, optimizing processes, sustainable development and better service to internal and external customers. Required ● 25+ years of experience in the design and manufacturing of compressors, with the priority being in High-side scroll compressor design and manufacturing. Working knowledge of gas dynamics, journal bearings, sound measurement and control, involute geometry, dynamic compliance, lubrication, and test methods. ● 10 years of direction experience leading the research, development, and mass production introduction of innovative compressors in Engineer Manager role. These include analytical studies, prototype development and evaluation, developing cost and performance metrics compared to competitive products, developing detailed business plans and value selling innovative ideas to management. ● Demonstrated ability to invent, especially in the compressor field. Desirable to have 〉20 patents, and experience with writing and reading patent claims. ● Extensive experience in analyzing data and reaching conclusions, based on both analytical and empirical information. ● Ability to influence across a matrix organization without the benefit of direct reporting relationships. Candidate must be well-organized and capable of managing numerous competing priorities. Excellent people skills with ability to develop and maintain professional relationships across a matrix, multi-cultural organization. ● Degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required. ● Strong capability with computers, design and analysis software, and standard MS Office tools. Preferred ● Better to also have significant experience in Low-side scroll compressor and rotary compressors. ● Fluent in English. Further it is better to be able in Chinese and Japanese.
