About The Role This position will be based in Qingdao office and will be reporting to Group Product Development Manager. This role is responsible for providing leadership and management to the Mechanical Engineering Team while ensuring optimum level of service & satisfaction to customers through their innovative approach to researching and designing food packaging and processing machinery / systems. Key responsibilities - Manage the activities of the Mechanical Engineering Sub-Team - Coordinate the work schedules of team members including resource planning and delegating tasks - Ensure that the product developments and product standardization are managed and maintained by the team. - Encourage personal development ensuring results are achieved, including higher quality of output for customers - Make decisions within company philosophies and guidelines, and communicate them clearly and in a timely manner - Ensure team members are actively contributing to the global team throughout the life cycle of products, ensuring optimum levels of service and support are achieved - Provide support and guidance to the greater team in the absence of the Group R&D Manager - Design and develop machinery to meet performance, operational and cost specifications. - Development includes assembly, commissioning, testing & ongoing refinement. - Liaise with and establish excellent relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and internal departments - Continually identify, implement, monitor and update processes & practices to ensure a high standard of consistency with design philosophies - Generate designs and drawings that are of optimum quality.
